Another Batch of Thumbnails

Here's another set of thumbnails. These are a little tighter, especially the written notes, because I was offering suggestions to another animator for a sequence he was working on.

It's really cool to see an animators thought process. It's crazy how much analysis, planning, and thought goes into making a characters movement look spontaneous.

Very neat.

Hey Mike, we did a 2D game version for young kids and had to change all the runs and poses to a more rat like hunched over posture. Did you run into the same thing?

Nice stuff, as always,

Joel

Joel,

We worked with the Pixar guys very early on, before they had finalized their designs and animation approach, so yes we were on board right away with how they decided to handle the rat posture. I also got a couple pet rats early on for us to study. After spending time with the rats, I was really impressed with how well Pixar nailed the rat-look while still making them appealing.
